Informed Consent: Patient-Professional Relationships (HEP):
During the orientation day, students will receive reading materials and instruction about the informed consent process. They will then observe informed consent over the course of the eight-week rotation and write a paper focused on one aspect of informed consent. At the end of the course, students will meet with faculty from the University of Colorado Center for Bioethics and Humanities. This group session will further discuss the informed consent process and the students’ experiences with it; students are encouraged to share their experiences and concerns in a safe discussion environment.
