Professionalism Committee Recommendations:
Motion : Faculty Senate should develop a confidential reporting system to gather information on the number and type of professionalism concerns as well as exemplary examples of good behavior.
Vote: 16 in favor, none opposed, to tabling until Senators can discuss with departments.

Motion : The Faculty Senate should create an award to honor professionalism behavior of the highest caliber. 
Vote: 11 in favor, none opposed.  Motion was carried.

Motion : Using minimum appropriate language regarding professionalism in letters of offer.
Vote: 10 in favor, 4 opposed. Motion was carried.

December 12, 2006
Motion: Approval of Medical School Curriculum Administrative Structure.
Vote: 25 in favor, none opposed.  Motion was carried.

March 13, 2007
Proposed Changes to the Rules of the School of Medicine.
#1 Motion: Approval of addition of COMIRB service to the Promotion Matrix.
Vote: 24 in favor, none opposed.  Motion was carried.

#2 Motion: Approval of changes to 7-year promotion time-clock.
Vote: 24 in favor, none opposed.  Motion was carried.

#3 Motion: Removing Senate Membership (elimination of proxy voting) from Rules Changes.
Vote: 24 in favor, none opposed to removing this Rules change.  Motion was carried.

#4 Motion : Approval of changes to Research Professors.
Vote: 22 in favor, none opposed.  Motion was carried.

#5 Motion : Approval of recognition of Council on Diversity as standing SOM committee.
Vote: 24 in favor, none opposed.  Motion was carried.

#6 Motion : Approval of voting by students on Student Promotions Committee.
Vote: 24 in favor, none opposed.  Motion was carried.

#7 Motion: Approval of change in requirements for division head search committees.
Vote: 25 in favor, none opposed.  Motion was carried.

#8 Motion: Approval of elimination of requirement for 2 annual Executive Faculty meetings.
Vote: 25 in favor, none opposed.  Motion was carried.

Motion: Approval of addition of requirement for comprehensive review of SOM promotion and tenure policies every 7 years.
