Did you know that you can change the direction of text in a MS Excel spreadsheet?  Excel includes an easy way to redirect text with formatting and alignment.

Stack Cell Contents Vertically

  1. Select the cells in the spreadsheet that you wish to stack.
  2. Right-mouse click your selection and click Format Cells.
  3. Click on the Alignment tab.

  1. Under Orientation, click on the box to the left that has the word “text” running vertically.
  2. Click OK.

Text in the selected cells will now run vertically in your spreadsheet.

Rotate Cell Contents

  1.  Select the cells in the spreadsheet that you wish to rotate.
  2.  Right-mouse click your selection and click Format Cells.
  3. Click on the Alignment tab.
