Caps Lock Notification
Did you know that you can have your computer tell you when you have accidentally hit the Caps Lock key with a wayward pinky? The following instructions are for computers with a Windows operating system.
To make your computer beep at you when you have clicked on the Caps Lock key:
1. Click on the Start button, Settings, Control Panel (Windows XP users hit the Start button and Control Panel for the “new” Start menu type). Open the Accessibility Options icon.

2. On the Keyboard tab, click the “Use Toggle Keys” checkbox.
Now your computer will beep at you when you click on the Caps Lock key.
If you would like your computer screen to also flash at you when you click the Caps Lock key, use the following instructions:
1. From the Accessibility Options screen, click the Sound tab and check the “Use SoundSentry” checkbox.
2. Click the Settings button and select “flash active window” from the “Warning for windowed programs” drop down box.
3. Click OK until you close all of the dialog boxes.
Open up your word processor and click the Caps Lock key. If you cannot find your Accessibility Options icon, please let one of us know.
