 See Your Excel Headings

When scrolling through hundreds of rows on a spreadsheet, wouldn’t it be nice to see the headings in Row 1?

Scroll to the top of the spreadsheet so that you can see rows 1 and 2.  Click in cell A2 so that this is the active cell.  From the toolbar, select Window, Freeze Panes.  Anything visible on the screen above the active cell will be visible as you scroll through the worksheet.

How to make a row of headings that appear at the top of a spreadsheet appear at the top of each page when printed.

From the toolbar, select File, Page Setup.  In the Page Setup window there are four tabs across the top.  Select the Sheet tab.  In the field for Rows to repeat at top:, enter 1:1 – this will cause row 1 to appear at the top of each printed page.  If you have more than one row of headings, click the icon on the right end of the “Rows to repeat” box then click on the first row and drag the cursor down until you’ve selected all the rows you want included,  click Okay to save your choice and close the window. Now when you print all the rows you’ve selected will repeat at the top of each page.
