Blocking Senders in Outlook
Do you received unwanted email that gets past the campus spam-blocker? By following the instructions below you can eliminate email from specific senders. This applies only to users that are not on the UCD Exchange System. Spam should always be reported to spam.admin@uchsc.edu. However, some unwanted email is not necessarily spam (for example: the daily bad jokes forwarded by your second cousin).
Adding an individual to your Blocked Senders list is simple. When you receive a message from someone you don't want to hear from anymore, select the message and choose Actions, Junk E-Mail, Add Sender to Blocked Senders List. What happens to future emails sent to you by a blocked sender? They are diverted to the Junk E-Mail folder. After 90 days, the emails will be deleted. If your second cousin occasionally sends you an email you actually want to read, you can go into the Junk E-mail folder and look through the emails that have accumulated.
Removing an individual from your Blocked Senders list is just as easy. In order to do this, choose Actions, Junk E-Mail, Junk E-mail Options, Blocked Senders. Once in the Blocked Senders tab, you simply select the user you want to remove from the list and select Remove from the options on the right. You then click Apply at the bottom of the window and the sender’s future emails will again appear in your inbox.
