How Many Times Did You Use the Word ‘Wonderful’?
If you fear you have a tendency to over use a word or phrase, an MS-Word trick can help you spot that problem. The Replace command tells you how many words it has found and replaced when it's done. Here is how to take advantage of that to see how many times you use a certain word in your document.
- Open your document in word
- Type CTRL-F to bring up the find and replace menu
- enter the word you are concerned about in both the Find What and Replace With boxes
- Click Replace All
When the replacements are finished. Word reports how many times the word was replaced but since the replacement was the same word, your document is not changed. Now you can use the find command to search for and replace occurrences of words you have overused.
