Using Turningpoint in SOP Classrooms

        The Turningpoint Audience response system is available in SOP 004,  the PCLC, Vincent and Gutke.  Because of the way this system handles participant lists and local files you will need to use the following procedures to access the system.   

  • There is a special login username ("clickers")  that you must use to access the participant lists.  The password is available through any of the IT staff.  Please call or stop by to get it, before your class.
  • Make sure you have your presentation on a thumb drive or CD. You will not be able to access your home directory when you are logged in using the clickers ID.  If you need assistance creating a CD  or wish to purchase a thumb drive, please contact Jeri Rome (x50404) or Tim Tracy (x50765).
  • To load the Turningpoint software, you must start the Turningpoint program first (either from the programs menu or the icon on the desktop).  At that point, you can open your presentation. If you try to start the presentation by clicking on it or with PowerPoint, the audience response system features will not work.
  • After you have loaded the presentation, but before you start your slide show remember to choose the correct participant list from the participants drop down box in the turningpoint menu.  Currently partricipant lists are availabe for P2 and P3 students, named P2 and P3 respecively.  As soon as we able to distribute clickers to the P1 class, a P1 list will be available as well.
