Set Perfect Horizontal Lines in Word
If you would like to make perfect horizontal lines in Word that end aligned on the right-hand side of the document, all it takes is a few keystrokes and nimble fingers.
- On your Word toolbar, set your left and right indentations using Format and Paragraph.
- This is the part where you need to have flexible fingers. Place one left finger on the CTRL key and another on the right SHIFT key (the left one won’t work for this). While holding down these keys, press U and the space bar. Keep holding all keys until you reach the right margin. You now have a great looking horizontal line.
- Repeat step 2, as needed.
- When finished, you can change the appearance of the lines by highlighting the lines, select Format from the Word toolbar, select Font Size and change the thickness.
Note: if you change the margins of your document, you will have to adjust your lines to fit.
