1.File Converters for Office 2007(Click to start the install process)
If you receive a file created in Office 2007 with a .docx, xlsx etc.. extension, you can run the attached file format converter, and then you can open these files in earlier versions of Microsoft Office.
2.Shoot the Messenger (click to open the program)
The Windows "Messenger Service" is being exploited to spray the Internet with unsolicited commercial email. The receipt of a single UDP packet can cause a "Messenger Service" dialog to pop-up on the user's screen. It is possible for the sender to "spoof" (falsify) the packet's "Source IP", making these packets impossible to trace back to their origin. If our experience with email spam is any model, we can expect to see a lot more of this in the future.
3.Spybot - Search and Destroy (click to start the install process)
Spybot - S&D searches your hard drive and registry for existing spying/advertisement robots. If they are found, Spybot - S&D is able to remove them. Click on 'Open', 'Next', accept the license agreement, 'Next', 'Next' again, check the 'Don't create a Start Menu folder' box, click 'Next', take the check mark out of the 'Create a Quick Launch icon' box, click 'Next', click 'Install', and click 'Finish'. You will now have an icon on your desktop for the program. When you start the program the first time, you will be asked to select the language for the program. Select 'English', and click on 'OK' in the box that appears. Once you are in the program, click on the 'Online' box on the left or the 'Search for Updates' box in the center, and then click on the 'Check for Updates' box. Make sure the items are checked and download them and then click on the 'Check for Problems' button. If there are any potential problems detected, they will be reported. Click on the 'Fix Selected Problems' button and 'OK' to complete the Search & Destroy process.
4.Spywareblaster ver. 4.1(click to start the install process)
Spywareblaster is another program that is useful for combating spyware. Install the program, click on the "updates" link (and also check for updates weekly), and enable all protection. Spywareblaster blocks your access to known spyware sites on the Internet. If you absolutely have to visit one of the blocked sites, you may go in and manually remove the protection from that site in Spywareblaster. However, when you do this, you open up your system to be re-infested with spyware.
5.ATnotes (click to start the install process)
ATnotes is a Post-It Note-type program that will allow you to place "sticky" notes on the desktop of your computer.
6.Altiris Client (click to start the install process)
Altiris Clent is the utility that allows System Administrators to remotely control the desktop of your computer
7.Ad-Aware 2007 (click to start the install process)

Ad-Aware 2007 is another program that is useful for combating spyware.

8.SUPER Anti Spyware (click to start the install process)
SUPER Anti Spyware is an additional program to combat spyware.

9.Mcafee Virus Scan 8.5i for Windows (Please contact the SOP IT staff for a CD with the anti virus software)
Virus Scan 8.5i is compatable with the Windows VISTA Operating System and the Windows XP Operating System.
10.SDAT Virus Definition Update (right click and select 'Save Target As' to save the file to your desktop)
The Sdat5402.exe (10/09/2008) file is the latest update of the virus scan definition files. For the last several months there has been a problem when running the update. You will have to right click on the link and select 'Save Target As' and save the file to your desktop and then run the update from there. We apologize for the inconvenience.
11.Pop-up Blocker (click to start the install process)
Don't you just love those wonderful little popup ads that you get when visiting a site like GeoCities or Xoom? Simply double-click on the 'POW' icon, and you'll see it running on the task bar (by the clock on the Start menu). Now POW watches and waits for one of those nasty windows to open up and then POW! It slaps it down just like Adam West did when he was Batman! To add a window to kill to the list, simply click on the POW! icon, which will bring up a menu, and select 'Add/Delete Popup'. This will bring up a listing of all the windows that are open, that POW! can detect. Just find the window you want to automagically be killed from the list at the bottom, and it will appear on the top list. Just select 'OK', and you should see the window go bye-bye in a second! It's that easy. To remove a window from the top list, just double click on it; if you make a mistake, just hit 'Cancel' and nothing will change.
12.WinZip180 (click to start the install process)
In the WinZip Setup panel, choose Start with the WinZip Wizard and click Next. The Search for Favorite Zip Folders panel will appear.
In the Search for Favorite Zip Folders panel, choose Search Entire Hard Disk so the Wizard can search your system for Zip files (this is the recommended option). You will see the search progress, and then a panel that says something like "17 folders were added to your 'Favorite Zip Folders'". Click Next.
The Wizard will open an Explorer window displaying the WinZip program group icons. Click Next to continue, and the Wizard Welcome panel will appear.
In the Wizard Welcome panel, click Next again, and the Select Activity panel will appear.
That's it, you have installed WinZip, and you're ready to begin using the WinZip Wizard. The sections below describe using the Wizard for unzipping and zipping files.
