Continuing Pharmacy Education

The University of Colorado School of Pharmacy supports life long learning and the continuing professional development for pharmacists in the state of Colorado and elsewhere with the overall goal of improving patient care. To this end, the School administers the Nontraditional Doctor of Pharmacy academic degree and non-degree continuing pharmacy education programs.

The University of Colorado School of Pharmacy is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) as an accredited provider of continuing pharmacy education through the Office of Postgraduate Professional Education. The OPPE designs some continuing pharmacy education programs independently, but also works with partners such as the UCD Office of Continuing Medical Education, the Colorado Pharmacists Society, and Pharmacy Choice, Inc. to develop and accredit continuing education programs.

Continuing pharmacy education programs presented by the University of Colorado School of Pharmacy are developed in accordance with the mission and educational standards of the Office of Postgraduate Professional Education, as well as the ACPE Criteria for Quality and Interpretive Guidelines. The Office of Postgraduate Professional Education is part of the Colorado Statewide Extended Campus; state funds are not used to develop or administer programs developed or accredited by the OPPE.
