New, free online CE program
Improving Appropriate Antibiotic Prescribing for Acute Respiratory Infections is a 1-hour interactive home study program for pharmacists designed to help increase appropriate antibiotic use in the community setting. Learning objectives for the program are:

  • Describe four consequences of the overuse of antibiotics for acute respiratory infections
  • Apply the principles of appropriate antibiotic use for treatment of acute bronchitis, acute sinusitis, pharyngitis and acute otitis media
  • Develop practical strategies to adopt appropriate antibiotic use within your practice.

The program was designed by the Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment and is accredited by the UCD School of Pharmacy for 1 hour of ACPE continuing pharmacy education credit. Go to the program at: http://www.getsmartcolorado.com/08course.htm.

Advances in Pharmacy Practice: 2010
Plan now for Advances in Pharmacy Practice: 2010, which will be held Saturday, February 20, 2010 on the Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora, Colorado. A full day of high quality CE will be provided, with updates on key topics for pharmacists.
