Applying for Accreditation Services
If you have developed an educational program that would be appropriate for pharmacists, or are considering developing such a program, please take the following steps as far in advance as possible and at least 60 days before the program:- Contact the Coordinator for Continuing Education in the Office of Postgraduate Professional Education about your program, even in the earliest planning phases. As an accredited provider of continuing pharmacy education, we can advise on planning, publicity, and design of content to make your program as effective as possible for the pharmacist audience.
- We work closely with the UCD Office of Continuing Medical Education for programs that are jointly accredited for physicians and pharmacists. If your program will be accredited for physicians, review the program planning information under "Course Director Information" on the CME Web site at www.uchsc.edu/cme.
- If you are planning a live program, complete the Application for Continuing Pharmacy Education Accreditation Services-Live Program. Please submit the application to the Office of Postgraduate Professional Education by campus mail or US mail with all requested information, including needs assessment documentation, learning objectives, proposed faculty and draft budget.
- If you are planning enduring educational material such as a printed monograph or online program, complete the Application for Continuing Pharmacy Education Accreditation Services - Enduring Materials. Please submit the application to the Office of Postgraduate Professional Education by campus mail or US mail with all requested information, including needs assessment documentation, learning objectives, proposed faculty and draft budget.
- The Office of Postgraduate Professional Education must review and approve all promotional materials in advance of distribution. The Office will supply an accreditation statement and ACPE logo to include in publicity once the program is accredited. Brochures and detailed descriptions of the program must meet ACPE guidelines for promotional materials as shown in the Provider Self-Evaluation of Promotional Materials.
- All out-of-state programs must be approved in advance by the University of Colorado Board of Regents. This process may be coordinated with the Office of Continuing Medical Education. Please allow 3 months for this process; the activities should be approved prior to the printing of any promotional material.
- Fees for accreditation services will be determined upon review of the program application.
