Registration for New Students

Registration generally opens around the second week of December for the spring semester, the last week of April for the summer semester, and the last week of July for the fall semester. Exact dates of registration are posted on each year's academic calendar. Please register as early as possible, after submitting your Admission Response Form. Your registration should be completed before the first day of classes, at the latest. The registration system generally remains open through Friday, 5PM MDT) of the second week of classes for registration changes ("drops and adds").

Note that payment due dates are not affected by the date that you register. Payments are due within 30 days of the first day of class, regardless of your registration date. See the section on tuition and fees for more information about payments.

Please make your registration decisions carefully. The University of Colorado Denver's policies require significant financial penalties if you drop a course after classes have begun. See refund table in the Tuition, Fees, and Refunds section.

New Student Registration:

  • Create your profile in eCollege before proceeding to course registration.
  • Enter your student identification number issued by the University of Colorado Denver, NOT your social security number. Although the University and eCollege systems are secure, use of your student number helps reduce the risk of idenity theft.
  • For "Campus,", select the "Health Sciences Center" and then "School of Pharmacy Online Courses."
  • After completing the eCollege profile, you will be automatically linked to the UCD registration page. If you are not automatically connected to the registration page, please go to www.uchsc.edu/student and click into "Registration and Records" to proceed with the registration process.
  • Enter your Student ID & PIN, provided to you upon admission.
  • After logging in, click on "Registration" from the bottom tabs.
  • Once at the Registration Menu, select "Register" from the bottom tabs.
  • Choose "Extended Studies" as your academic unit, and selet the appropriate semester.
  • Enter the call numbers (NOT the "PRDO" number) for the course(s) you would like to take. These call numbers are in the Registration Letter (see link above for the current semester).
  • When you have entered the call numbers, hit the "Submit" button at the left. You should see your current schedule with the status "Enrolled."
  • If you receive an error message, check our page about Registration Troubleshooting
  • Click on "Registration Help" for more information on registering on the web.
  • NOTE: Your access to eCollege for each course should "roll over" in 24-48 hours (not including weekends), so you will not be able to view the course(s) in eCollege immediately.
  • You may verify that you are successfully registered by selecting "Registration" then "Schedule" from the bottom tabs.

Registration is restricted in subsequent semesters to students who are in good financial and academic standing. Good financial standing requires that your account have a balance of zero. Good academic standing requires that you have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 and meet grade criteria for individual courses. The minimum passing grade for NTPD courses is 70%.

Although your successful registration can be confirmed in the UCD registration system immediately, it usually takes 24 hours for your registration information to appear in the eCollege course enrollment lists and to show on your personal eCollege home page. Please note that if you register on a weekend, you will not be able to see your courses listed on your eCollege home page until the following Tuesday morning (see below). So, if you register for classes on the weekend before classes begin, or on the first day of class, your registration is fully valid, but you will not have access to your classes until the second day of the semester.

Please do not be concerned about this potential lag time. All new students are guaranteed slots in either or both of the two courses offered to entering students; and delayed access will not put you behind in your course(s). The NTPD program classes are set up in "units" with a full week to accomplish the work of each unit. You may access the unit materials as whenever you wish, and as often as you wish, at any time during the week. Units open on Monday mornings at 12:01 AM. Assignments are generally due until the following Sunday night at midnight. Although it is recommended that you begin the unit work, or at least review what will be required for each unit early in the week so that you can manage your schedule appropriately, the work of each unit can be accomplished at any time during the scheduled unit dates.
