What To Do If Your Registration Does Not Work

Registration problems tend to fall into two categories: either the online registration site posts a message saying you are not allowed to register, or your registration appears successful, but you do not have access to the course in eCollege once the course opens. Please try some of these solutions before contacting the NTPD office for help.

If you tried to register on the www.uchsc.edu/student Web site, but the registration did not work:

  • Make sure you clicked on the "extended studies" button on the UCD registration page
  • Make sure you used the 3-digit call number, not the PRDO number (e.g., Immunology, PRDO 5010). The call numbers are different every semester and are included in the Registration Letter for each semester, found under "Student Tools."

While trying to register on the www.uchsc.edu/student Web site, you may receive a message saying you are not eligible to register.

  • If the message says you are "not financially eligible to enroll", you have a financial hold on your account that can only be cleared by the UCD Bursar's Office. You must contact them to determine how the hold can be removed.
  • If the message says "you are not eligible to register at this time", it may be because you have not taken a class for the last couple of semesters. Contact the UCD Registrar's Office to determine how the hold can be removed.

If neither of these situations apply, you may contact Brooke Coleman in the NTPD office at 303-315-3098 or brooke.coleman@uchsc.edu.

If your registration seemed to go through, but you do not have access to the course(s) in eCollege, try the following:

  • Make sure you created your student profile within the eCollege system (see Admissions and Orientation information on the NTPD website). If you do not have a student profile in the eCollege system, your registration in the UCD computers will not be communicated to the eCollege computers, and you will not show up on the eCollege class lists. You only have to create a profile once when you first enter the program.
  • Your registration has not yet been posted in the eCollege system. Although your successful registration can be confirmed in the UCD registration system immediately, it usually takes 24 hours for your registration information to appear in the eCollege course enrollment lists and to show on your personal eCollege home page. Please note that if you register on a weekend, you will not be able to see your courses listed on your eCollege home page until the following Tuesday morning. Registration data that lists you in your requested courses is downloaded from UCD computers to the eCollege computers once daily, after midnight, on Mondays through Friday only. If you register for classes on the weekend before classes begin, or on the first day of class, your registration is fully valid, but you will not have access to your classes until the second day of the semester. Please do not be concerned about this potential lag time.
