Doctor of Pharmacy

Mission

The purpose of the curriculum is to prepare graduates to be competent, ethical and compassionate entry-level pharmacotherapists who will become leading practitioners of pharmaceutical care. They will be committed to active involvement in the advancement of the pharmacy profession and dedicated to fulfilling the public trust by assuming responsibility for optimizing patient care through provision of appropriate drug therapy and by assuring the safe, effective and efficient use of drug products and drug delivery systems.

Goals

To prepare professionally competent graduates with a strong foundation in the biological, pharmaceutical, clinical and administrative pharmacy sciences and principles.

• To prepare graduates with practical experiences emphasizing primary pharmaceutical care in various patient care settings and establishing the foundations for further advanced training in more specialized pharmacy practice.

• To develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, promote a sense of intellectual inquiry and instill a desire to pursue life-long learning.

• To develop graduates effective verbal and written communication skills needed for the contemporary practice of pharmacy.

• To promote and develop professional attitudes, conduct, ethics, integrity and values.
