PHRD 4600: Clinical Science Foundations (3 Credits)
This course provides students with a more detailed understanding of selected topics that bridge the gap between basic and clinical sciences. This course is divided into two distinct sections: (i) Pharmacokinetics, which focuses on the application of basic principles of this discipline to the clinical use of pharmacological agents with the object of optimizing drug therapy and (ii) Toxicology, which provides a basis for understanding the mechanisms of toxicity common to a broad range of diseases. Together, these sections will provide students with foundation for the rational application of drug therapy in a variety of disease states.
