PHRD 4760: Integrated Organ Systems VII: Gastrointestinal, Nutrition (2 Credits)
This course is intended to provide the student with an understanding of (i) the functioning of nutrition and the gastrointestinal system in health and disease, (ii) the means by which drugs alter gastrointestinal function and gastrointestinal function alters drug disposition, (iii) the importance of drug chemical structure on pharmacological and therapeutic actions, and (iv) the therapeutic applications of nutrition and drugs that modify gastrointestinal function.
