Since I moved to Denver I have been sharing the NeeBeeGrams with several colleagues and I had many requests for copies.  So, I decided to put them in the Internet.  It will take some time to list all the NeeBeeGrams, but it will happen. Each NeeBeeGram will be listed as a dated file at the end of this page ---Vasilis Vasiliou, November 1998.

The NeeBeeGrams' description is given below by a short note from Dan Nebert:   In the early 'eighties, I began sharing little jokes and humorous tidbits--mostly with members of my Laboratory of Developmental Pharmacology (NIH, Bethesda). Also, postdocs who were leaving, or who had left, began asking to "remain on the mailing list." Around 1986 one female graduate student "was offended" by one particular "memo" from Nebert," and I had several discussions with the Intramural Director about persons who have a sense of humor and those who do not. So I decided to: [a] make it very clear that this was NOT an "official memo," but rather just a breezy, simple-minded, lighthearted note; [b] call it officially a "NeeBeeGram" and [c] draw a caricature of myself at the bottom--to underscore the levity of humor being transmitted. Over the years many colleagues have made slides of this caricature (which has evolved from short hair to long hair to short hair, and has aged, in parallel to changes in the way the author has looked). In fact, for the past 3+ years David Nelson has had this caricature in his "Rogues' Gallery" on his P450 homepage.
