Research Cores
- Transgenic and Gene Targeting Core (TGTC)
- The TGTC produces genetically engineered mouse lines by using a variety of technologies such as DNA microinjection into fertilized eggs (transgenic mouse production) and embryonic stem (ES) cell injections into blastocysts (production of chimeric mice). Additional services include embryonic re-derivation of mice (elimination of mouse pathogens) and embryo cryo-preservation.
- Flow Cytometry Core
- One of the most highly utilized techniques in the study of stem cell biology is flow cytometric analysis and cell sorting. The Gates Frontier Foundation supported the purchase of two state-of-the-art flow cytometers (analysis and cell sorting) for the Regenerative Medicine and Stem Cell Biology Program.
- The Morphology and Phenotyping Core
- The Morphology and Phenotyping Core provides investigators with the tools and expertise to process and analyze tissue samples. Although the Core specializes in processing and analyzing skin samples, it has expertise in the processing of all types of tissues.
