All enrolled HSC students receive an account in the campus electronic mail and World Wide Web access system. Students will need to know their four-digit Personal Identification Number (PIN) to access their account in the system. Student email is accessible using any Internet account via Outlook Web Access. Students who do not know their PIN may obtain it at the HSC Registrar's Office by going there in person with a picture ID. Students may call
303-315-0388 or email student.postmaster@uchsc.edu for information or assistance.
Students who do not own the necessary computer equipment may use the system from shared workstations in school-operated labs or in the Health Sciences Library. All persons using shared computers should be especially careful to logoff their account when completing their work.
A storage quota of twenty megabytes per account is set on the Exchange server. If incoming email messages fill an account's quota, email may not be sent and new incoming messages will not be delivered.
Email and the Internet may be accessed with a computer off-campus. Instructions for obtaining and installing any required software, as well as workstation hardware requirements are available from the Student Email Coordinator, in the Health Sciences Library, or the technical representatives of each school listed in the shortcut bar. All questions about the new system should be directed to the Student Email Coordinator or the appropriate school technical representative. Help and answers to Frequently Asked Questions are available on the web at http://hsclibrary.uchsc.edu/email-help.
Virus checking software is available on CD-ROM for students to check out at the library for installation on personal computers.
