Bio Dr. McCarter's clinical interests focus on the surgical treatment of melanoma and gastrointestinal cancer. He is committed to advancing medical knowledge through both clinical and translational research and is an active participant in many national trials. Current research interests include tumor induced immunosuppression in melanoma and targeted therapies for colorectal cancers and gastrointestinal stomal tumors. Educating students and residents is an important part of his academic practice.
