The Department of
Pharmacology with the Neuroscience Program and Department of Psychiatry
Inaugural / Open House for Research Complex I The exciting two-day event will begin at 8:30 a.m. in the Hensel Phelps large auditorium located in the RC-1 North Tower with a Welcoming Ceremony that will feature comments from invited guests who include: Congressman Bob Beauprez, President Betsy Hoffman, Chancellor James Shore, and Sr. Associate Dean, SOM, Chester Ridgway. Throughout the remainder of the day, guests will have the opportunity to attend varied presentations by invited internal and external scientific lecturers. A Conference Room Naming Ceremony will take place midday, followed by a tour of the Department for invited guests. A selection of seminars covering a broad range of topics will continue throughout the day. The second day's schedule, which also includes guest seminars, features a Roundtable Discussion on the NIH Roadmap Initiatives, which will include representatives from the National Institutes of Health, the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism, the National Institute of Mental Health, and the National Institute on Drug Abuse, as well as members of the Department's External Advisory Committee. A Student and Post-doctoral Poster session will take place from 2:00 to 4:00 in the North Tower atrium, followed by a closing seminar at 4:30. School of Medicine's Research Towers Grand Opening
Celebration. The CU School of Medicine is hosting an open house for School faculty, students, alumni and select members of the community during the afternoon. The opening of the research towers presents the chance to visibly link the CU School of Medicine with its role as a biomedical research powerhouse, where its faculty attract over $260 million in research and training grants this year. Guests can experience dozens of interactive faculty exhibits that highlight programs and outcomes in education, research, patient care and community service.
