First Orthodontics class graduates from School of Dentistry
The University of Colorado Denver School of Dentistry experienced another first on Nov. 29 with the graduation of the first-ever class of orthodontists.
The graduates, 16 in all, received their certificates in orthodontics.
The Colorado Commission for Higher Education requires a program to be running
for two years before they grant accreditation. That means the students received
certificates versus actual degrees. The class is also unusual in that a class size of 16 is extremely large for an orthodontics program. Most dental schools in the United States graduate classes of three or four orthodontists per year.
The graduates are:
Joshua Beeler, DDS; Zachary Ehrmantrout, DDS; Abdelhakim A. El-Gheriani, DMD, MS; Melissa Farrow, DDS; Robert Gire, DDS, AEGD; Bradley Goings, DDS, AEGD; Bradley Goldberg, DMD; Debra Hsu, DDS; Salman Jaffer, DMD, MPH; Pourang Jahan1shahi, DDS; Gerald Minick, DDS, MS; Shawn Murray, DDS; Jorge Peralta, DDS; Cory D. Price, DDS; Reza Salmassian, DDS, AEGD; and Grace Chen-Zhou, MS, DDS.
