Three finalists announced for Dean of the School of Pharmacy
The Search Committee has announced the three finalists who will visit
the UCD campus to interview for the position of UCD Dean of the School
of Pharmacy. They are:Ralph J. Altiere, PhD, associate dean for Academic Affairs and interim chair of the Department of Clinical Pharmacy at the UCD School of Pharmacy. Altiere received his PhD in Pharmacology in 1979 from the New York Medical College and began his academic career as assistant research professor at the University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy in 1981. He joined the faculty at the School of Pharmacy in 1987 where he is currently a professor.
William T. Beck, PhD, associate dean for Research and Graduate Education, head of the Department of Biopharmaceutical Sciences and director of the Core Laboratory in Molecular Pharmacology at the College of Pharmacy, University of Illinois at Chicago.
Beck received his PhD in Pharmacology from George Washington University in 1971 and began his academic career as assistant professor of pharmacy at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, CA in 1974. He joined the faculty at the University of Illinois at Chicago in 1996 where he is currently a professor of Molecular Genetics and Bioengineering.
M. Lynn Crismon, PharmD, Behrens Inc. Centennial Professor in Pharmacy, associate dean for Clinical Programs and director of the Psychiatric Pharmacy Program at the University of Texas College of Pharmacy in Austin, Texas. Crismon received his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from a joint program of The University of Texas at Austin and The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio in 1979 and began his academic career as assistant professor, Clinical Division, College of Pharmacy, at the University of Texas at Austin, Texas in 1984.
Richard Krugman, MD, dean of the UCD School of Medicine is the chair of the search committee. Other members are: James Hertel, Anthony Jones, Nancy Zahniser, PhD, Dennis Petersen, PhD, Chris Turner, PhD, Kevin Jacobs, Sarah Mercer, Charlotte Klaus, David Ross, PhD, Cathy Jarvis, PharmD, Sheryl Vondracek, PharmD, and Andy Jhanji.
