Assistive Technology Conference
A three-day conference showcasing new technologies that enhance the lives of individuals living with disabilities was held from June 21 to 23 at the Hyatt Regency in the Denver Tech Center. “A Rocky Mountain Collaborative Conference on Assistive Technology” showcased new technologies that enhance the lives of people living with disabilities.
The conference featured the Adapted House, a display of a living room, bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and office, as well as a classroom, all equipped with hundreds of innovations for children and adults with difficulties ranging from a limited use of hand or leg to auditory, visual or cognitive struggles.
Examples included a talking microwave, magnification devices for people who have trouble seeing, and voice-responsive controls for lights in the house.
