Hospital finalizes
move to Anschutz Medical Campus
After spending 42 years at Ninth and Colorado in Denver, the University of Colorado
Hospital completed its monumental move to the Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora
between
June 11
and 17.
The Cancer Center consolidates
During
the beginning of June, the University of Colorado Cancer Center (UCCC)
spent seven days moving its 87 staff members and all of its equipment
from various locations to the Anschutz Medical Campus.
Study estimates 15,000 children and adolescents
diagnosed with type 1 diabetes annually
Approximately 15,000 children and adolescents in the United States are diagnosed
with type 1 diabetes, and about 3,700 youth are diagnosed with type 2 diabetes
annually, according to estimates from a major national study called SEARCH for
Diabetes in Youth.
The Gift of Life and Breath Race
The Gift of Life and Breath Race, which took place on Saturday, May 19,
raised $39,000 for the University of Colorado Cancer Center.

Denver native and star of A&E’s popular reality show, “Dog
the Bounty Hunter", attended the sixth annual Ride for Recovery, held
June 30.
Fitzsimons Commons project under construction
Construction has started for the Fitzsimons Commons project, located on Montview
boulevard and Ursula street.
Exempt Professionals Assembly
The three branches of the Exempt Professional Assembly at the downtown Denver,
Ninth Avenue, and Anschutz Medical campuses have united to form a single organization.
Assistive Technology conference
A three-day conference showcasing new technologies that enhance the lives of
individuals living with disabilities was held from June 21 to 23 at the Hyatt
Regency in the Denver Tech Center.
Avon Walk for Breast Cancer raises
money for CU
Cancer Center
The University of Colorado Cancer Center (UCCC) was given a $750,000 grant as
part of the $2.3 million that was raised by last month’s Avon Walk for
Breast Cancer.
Dental Education: Our Legacy – Our

UCH completes move
to Anschutz Medical Campus
By the end of June 2007, all University of Colorado Hospital inpatients, staff
and equipment will be relocated from the Ninth Avenue campus in Denver to the
Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora.
956 graduate
from UCD’s health sciences schools
On May 25, 956 students graduated from UCD’s five health sciences schools
in ceremonies held at the Ninth Avenue campus. This marks the last commencement
ceremonies to be held at the Ninth Avenue location.
