CeDAR is unique in that it has collaborated with the Betty Ford Center for training and program development. It follows the 12-Step disease model of treatment and provides a holistic approach addressing the biological, psycho-social and spiritual aspects of the disease in helping patients learn to take better care of themselves.

The program also includes treatment of co-occurring problems, aftercare, a family program and extended care. All of this is achieved in a picturesque area of the Anschutz Medical Campus, which provides patients with a serene, comforting setting with ready access to ancillary services at one of the most advanced medical facilities in the country.
