Colorado Kids 1st license plate available
The Colorado Kids 1st license plate was unveiled on Wednesday, August 8 at a news conference featuring speakers Lt. Gov. Barbara O’Brien and State Senator Paula Sandoval.
The license plate, which features whimsical kids’ handprints on a purple
background, will raise funds for child health and safety programs throughout
Colorado through the Rocky Mountain Research and Prevention Institute (RMPRI) – a
non-profit organization which serves as a fundraising resource for health
and safety programs.The Colorado Kids 1st License Plate bill (SB06-100) was approved by the Colorado State Legislature and signed into law by Gov. Bill Owens in 2006. Colorado community groups and organizations will be able to apply for grants from the Colorado Kids 1st Fund and use the license plate as a fundraising project.
The license plates can be obtained after making a $30 donation to the Colorado Kids 1st Fund and paying the $50 special license plate fee along with regular registration fees.
